Realism in the chase as well as the appearance! Elaborate staging is a new way to make tandem drifting stand out. Whether because of big competitions or Drift Tengoku's dedicated coverage, more people are putting effort into tandem performances.

But few pairs could make us laugh like these two. A police-car replica chasing a kaido racer—what an idea! The cars themselves are well done: a long-nose Silvia in Impul colors and a black-and-white Laurel.

Just seeing them parked together in the paddock is funny. 'They're event specials! Ridiculous, aren't they?' both drivers said. These aren't quick vinyl makeovers; both cars are properly painted.

The extended nose is convincing and the emergency light is genuine. Their driving also stages a real pursuit. Despite entering a judged contest, they use the pit straight as a slow show-off section: the Silvia snakes along, revving theatrically, while the Laurel follows with its light and siren going.

The crowd bursts out laughing. Then, at the corners, both go flat out: the Silvia flees in a drift and the Laurel pursues sideways, siren and light still on. It isn't simply close tandem drifting—the Laurel sometimes overtakes, then the Silvia takes the place back.

Nobody can look away. Everyone forgets this is a competition and applauds their successful show. Even Drift Tengoku, always searching for a funny new idea, has to salute their imagination, commitment, and ability to make it happen!

Right, show me your license!

A police car chasing a fleeing street racer looks like a scene from an action production, but this is a real tandem-drift contest. What a brilliant idea! They actually look the part, which makes it even funnier. Drift Tengoku loves this kind of spirit!
