…and did it! That was fine, but when I tried again a little farther away, a strange bang came from the left front. I had a bad feeling, stopped and checked: the tire had burst, and one hub [probably wheel stud; wording clarified by editors below] was broken.

I called a tow truck and got the car dealt with, then realized my wallet was in trouble. The driver allowed later payment, a relief—but there were still the hub/stud, tire and other expenses. Despite everything, I plan to keep this car until I die…

…and have an R32 model put in my coffin too! Everyone, consider your wallet when drifting. — Wants an R32 Coffin [pen name]. Editors: a broken hub? Do you mean a stud? Drifters should carry tools and wheel studs, says the historical reply. It must have cost quite a lot. That's when you wish you had joined JAF. Some insurance policies include free recovery; check your policy [historical editorial advice].

Hey, hey, hey!

When I called a tow truck…

Hello! I'm an R32 driver who enjoys every issue . On the way back from visiting Karuizawa with a friend, I was in an unusually excited mood after having fun for the first time in ages. Late at night, we came across a crowd. I thought, ‘If I don't drift here, I'm no drifter!’… [reader's historical account].

…I'm a student. The other day, a friend and I went to a mountain pass…

…and parked in a slightly wider area beside the road. We watched from a short distance away. Then…

…and hit my car. But the R32 drove away as if nothing happened. I was too shocked to speak. The left door of my S14 can no longer open or close. He should at least have apologized; leaving without a word is outrageous. What do you think? — S14 driver, Fukushima.

Editors: you're remarkably calm! Rather than asking what we think, that's a hit-and-run. Didn't you see the number plate, or find anyone who knew him? Someone like that might blame spectators for parking where cars could hit them, but that's no excuse after a collision [editorial response].
