Dress-up contest. RX-7s and Roadsters are admired for styling as well as sporting performance, so many owners focus on appearance. Entry to the visitor-voted dress-up contest costs ¥3,000. Show off your pride and joy!

Calling devoted Rotary and Roadster fans! Thursday, September 23, public holiday: Rotary & Roadster Meeting 2004.

Drift contest. Rotary cars and Roadsters compete separately, with 30 minutes of free practice and 30 minutes of final attacks. There are 20 entries across the classes, so enter early if you want to drift the West course. Entry costs ¥8,000. Drift Tengoku will report on it too!

R&R brings together devoted rotary-car and Roadster…

…and you can see the strongest rotary and Roadster machines in action. The shop-versus-shop race especially has an impressive lineup of well-known professional drivers.

In the paddock: exhibitor booths, flea market, whole-roasted calf…

…a big prize draw and event stickers. There are plenty of activities beyond driving, and a visiting power-check service is planned this year too.

…and drift contests to determine each class's number-one R&R driver. Opportunities to drift the West course are largely limited to the Drift Festival and R&R, so entering is worthwhile even without great confidence. Drift Tengoku plans to attend.

D1 GP heats up in the second half! August 21–22: round four, Autopolis. Round five, Odaiba.

D1-machine demonstration runs and passenger rides. More D1 drivers are using FD3Ss this year, so excitement should exceed last year's. JIC's notable RX-8 is also scheduled, as is Drift Samurai.

The 2004 D1 GP has completed round three at Ebisu…

September 18–19

…and moves into the second half. HKS's Taniguchi and Blitz's Nomura share first with 52 points, followed by Kei Office's Kazama, who had a strong first half.

Amid that fierce competition, round four is on August 21–22…

…Autopolis's main course hosts round four. It's a new D1 GP venue, so anyone could win.

Odaiba's event will be held September 18–19…

After packed preseason and exhibition events, proper spectator grandstands will be provided this time. Seats cost extra, so reserve early.

Venue: in front of the Museum of Maritime Science, NOP area. September 18–19. Advance admission ¥2,000.

Admission with spectator seat: ¥4,000–¥6,000

Geki Style driving event at Nikko Circuit on Sunday, September 26. Entry ¥15,000; 80 cars wanted. Geki Kassodan, Cool Nuts and other well-known teams plan a team competition. Challengers wanted! Applications: 090-4618-8616, Hoshino.
