Ohara explains that making power with an inspection compliant exhaust is difficult: many have a large main pipe but restrictive sections inside the silencer to reduce noise. Choose a main pipe of at least 80 mm and a straight through silencer without restrictions, ideally paired with a sports catalyst. Above 500 PS the front pipe also needs changing, but the standard one can suffice at a 400 PS target.

The stock intercooler has limited cooling and substantial pressure loss, restricting turbo performance. Its crimped joints can also fail with increased boost, so an aftermarket replacement is desirable. Unlike piston engines, rotaries do not require cam or head gasket upgrades; choosing high performance supporting components is especially important.

Plan them properly and you should not need to rush into buying replacements when changing the turbo.

The kit includes an exhaust manifold, wastegate and intake pipe, and is incompatible with the stock intercooler. It is not a fashionable simple bolt on replacement, but the turbo itself has capacity beyond 600 PS. The compressor housing uses Air Lock technology to optimize clearance around the impeller.

R Magic's second recommendation is this turbo. It builds power from low rpm and is easy to drive, with capacity comfortably above 400 PS. It uses an external wastegate and includes an exhaust manifold and front pipe.

R Magic's original stainless sports catalyzer uses a relatively open 130 cell substrate. Integrating the catalyst and silencer combines exhaust flow with noise reduction. At ¥92,400 it may look expensive, but considering what is included...

A BNR34 factory pump is one option, but R Magic recommends a Bosch pump. Its inlet covers the whole underside, supporting stable fuel delivery. It is an in tank unit, so installation is a straightforward factory replacement. Price: ¥45,150.

Above 430 PS, replace the two primary injectors. Aftermarket parts are unnecessary: use factory secondary injectors. Stock primary capacity is 550 cc, and secondary capacity is 850 cc. The 850 cc injectors cost ¥20,475 each.

...it is good value.

Changing the intercooler makes a huge difference!

The engine generates considerable heat, and increased power exposes the stock intercooler's cooling limitations. A front mount works, but a V mount arrangement using airflow effectively can also be highly beneficial. This kit pairs a dedicated intercooler and radiator for substantial cooling improvement. Price: ¥313,950.
