Parking made the effect obvious—now I want to feel it drifting! Super Now's high-angle tie-rod kit is familiar to FD and FC owners. Unlike a simple spacer washer, it has several benefits.
While envying them, I heard a JZZ30 version was being added, so obtained one to test. Installation took about an hour. Comparing steering angle before and after was startling: visibly different, with roughly another quarter-turn of the steering wheel per side.
It's easy to see how extra angle could help increase drift angle and avoid spins. I wanted to test that immediately…
…but saying I lacked time is an excuse; I wasn't confident enough in my drifting to assess it. So I drove around looking for a street-use difference, but rarely reached full lock. Then I noticed it parking: a space that once needed several reversals now took none! Even without drifting, the improvement was clear. That made me want a drift test even more, though now I can't excuse myself by saying the Soarer's steering angle is limited!

An easy-to-fit high-angle tie-rod kit…

…recommendation!
The JZZ30 Soarer is known for limited steering angle. As an aspiring drifter, I'd wanted more lock, but there aren't many Soarer products. Then I heard some welcome news!

Factory tie rods
With only rolled fender lips, 10 mm spacers and 18 × 9J wheels at +3 offset, the tires didn't hit the fenders even at full lock.
Sharper steering response too! Pillow-ball tie-rod ends improve response. Spacers adjust mounting height to correct the upward tie-rod angle on a lowered car.
More steering angle
Tie-rod kit fitted
Correcting toe with the tie-rod ends! The adapter lengthens the tie rod, causing excessive toe-out with factory ends, so dedicated ends are needed. These are finished in purple anodizing.
The secret is here! The kit provides more angle than a simple washer because the section threaded into the rack is integrated. A thick washer reduces thread engagement and risks detachment; this design retains ample engagement while giving the effect of a 9 mm washer. [Historical product explanation]
